Public Intellectual Property Resource for Agriculture

PIPRA is a non-profit organization dedicated to maximizing the impact of technologies in the agricultural, biotechnology, health, water, and clean energy sectors, to achieve broad public benefit. We are based at the University of California, Davis, but are comprised of a network of more than 50 public sector and academic institutions across the world.

PIPRA is the only organization of its kind in the world, in that we represent an intersection between science and the law. Our focus on the role that intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer play in public sector agricultural research is unique. Fittingly, PIPRA is based on the campus of the University of California, Davis, ranked as the #1 university in the world in agricultural and veterinary sciences.
